A one-day FOODSAFE Level 1 course is being offered on January 27 at Victoria Scout House.
Cost: $65 (includes book). We will need an enrolment minimum of 10, and a cap of 20.

Bring your own snacks and lunch. There will be 2 short breaks and a 30 minute lunch break. Participants will need a pen/pencil/highlighter to take notes, as well as to write their test. They will need 70% or greater score to pass (it is a 50 question multiple choice test).

This is a food handling, sanitation and work safety course designed for food service establishment operators and front line food service workers such as cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, and deli workers. The course covers important food safety and worker safety information including food-borne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing.
It is a VIHA requirement that at least one cook at every residential camp at Camp Barnard hold a Food Safe Level I certification. Please make sure that your group leaders, and older youth are aware of this course.
