Associate Director,
Business Applications and System Governance

The Associate Director, Business Applications and System Governance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the implementation, support, and maintenance of IT business systems. This role will ensure that the organization’s systems align with Scouts Canada’s goals and enhance its operational efficiency. Additionally, this position will be involved in business analysis, utilizing user-centered design principles, to facilitate sourcing the right applications of the business and oversee governance activities. The Associate Director, Business Applications and System Governance will work closely with the Director of IT and Digital Transformation to strategize and deliver robust technology solutions that support the company’s growth and innovation.

This role is remote, and the candidate can be located anywhere in Canada.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Systems team, providing direction, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with the Director of IT to develop and execute the strategic vision for business systems.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology for improved business processes and productivity.
  • Ensure seamless integration of IT systems.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Conduct business analysis utilizing user-centered design principles to understand, document, and source business system requirements.
  • Oversee software implementations, ensuring they meet business objectives and are executed effectively.
  • Implement governance standards and best practices for all business systems, to protect sensitive data and minimize disruption to services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding business systems' needs and priorities.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance user adoption and proficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to users and team members.
     

Job Specific Competencies:

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a management role overseeing business systems and applying problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in business analysis and application sourcing.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Strong customer service, organization, planning and execution skills.
  • Understanding of IT governance frameworks and best practices.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a home-office environment.
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • PRC (Police Record Check) and VSS (Vulnerable Sector Check) are required before the start date
  • Mandatory training requirement.

Salary depends on skills and experience. The salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per annum.
