Paddle Canada course. Canoe training course for adult Scouters ONLY.
The practical section of the course will take place on Chickakoo Lake at Scoutland. The theory section will be run online sometime the previous week (June 23-27). This is a sanctioned Paddle Canada course.
Please book early as not to be disappointed there are limited spots available. (Max 20 participants)
The course is going to be run by a Scouter from 59th Greenfield. Scouter Alan Vladicka who is a qualified Paddle Canada instructor.
The Waterfront Canoe Program provides knowledge and skills necessary for calm water paddling in a designated "waterfront or beachfront" area.
The course focuses on basic skill development, safety and an understanding of limitations primarily through paddling games and group activities.
The items chosen for inclusion in this program are of importance to individuals being introduced to canoeing through canoeing games in a summer camp or canoe club setting, within a sheltered environment.
